A Class C decision means no invalidity pension, and an initial Class C can never be reviewed later. Reconsideration is your one real chance to change it, and the deadline is short.
For medical transitions, CSC usually sends a draft classification decision and invites your response, often within about 14 days (extensions are commonly granted if you ask). Changing a draft is faster and cheaper than overturning a final decision, so respond with evidence.
After a final decision, you have 30 days from receiving it to request reconsideration using CSC's A-RECON form. The request must identify the decision and explain why you disagree.
CSC can allow a longer period in some cases, but don't rely on it. Lodge on time, even with a holding submission, and send further evidence afterwards.
Reconsideration is free.
AFCA has its own time limits for superannuation complaints. Check them as soon as reconsideration is decided.
