Does location matter for a DVA claim?

Less than veterans expect. A DVA delegate decides on the written evidence — the diagnosis, the service record and the Statement of Principles factors argued against it — not on where the doctor sits. Chart reviews, Diagnostic Assessments, diagnosis forms, evidence packs and appeal documents are all produced from your file, wherever you are in Australia. Consultations and psychiatric assessments can be conducted by telehealth. The one stage that genuinely requires attendance is a physical examination for permanent impairment, done at our Ipswich clinic — and we will tell you honestly whether that is worth travelling for.
